New dedicated parking bay to boost passing trade for Abercynon businesses

Residents may have noticed new white lines painted on the road in Margaret Street, creating a new parking bay. This has been installed by R.C.T Council following IMG_2416representations from business owners in Margaret Street who requested a dedicated parking bay to help increase passing trade. Residents who may wish to pop into a shop for loaf of bread or enjoy a meal in one of the cafes, can now park in the new parking bay for one hour between the hours of 9am & 5pm, Monday to Saturday.

Here is a summary of the new parking bay rules in operation:

  • A one hour parking restriction applies between the hours of 9am & 5pm, Monday to Saturday
  • Drivers are allowed to park for one hour with no return within one hour
  • Outside of these days and hours, drivers can park unrestricted

As Councillors representing Abercynon Ward, we want to help our local businesses to succeed and grow. We recognise that our businesses are important to the community of Abercynon Ward and the local economy. We are pleased that R.C.T Council accepted the need for dedicated parking for shoppers in Margaret Street and we look forward to the benefits that will derive from this proactive action.
